Gina H Tabrizy
Executive Clinical Director
Gina H. Tabrizy is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over twenty years of experience, knowledge, and expertise in the areas of Addiction, Trauma, and Codependency.
From a very young age she was driven by a passion to help people. She had the gift of seeing the good in everyone and supporting them in bringing that part of themselves back into their lives. In junior high school she was nicknamed “the shrink”. In 1994, along with her husband Farid Tabrizy, she founded Harmony of Body, Mind, and Spirit Counseling Center, now known as “Harmony Heals” Inc. Their vision was to create a holistic center where the traditional Western practice of therapy could join with the more non-traditional practices of the Eastern philosophies of healing: mentally, physically, and spiritually.
Farid Tabrizy holds an Honorary Doctorate in Human Resources Management. In addition, Farid is a Certified Hypnotherapist, Board Certified Expert in Alternative Medicine, Board Certified Sports Counselor, and a Certified Massage Therapist in Acupressure/Shiatzu with over 20 years’ experience. He is a Yoga Practitioner, Tai Chi Instructor, and Grand Master with an 8th Degree Black Belt in Shaolin Kempo, Kenpo Karate, HapKido, and Tae Kwon Do. He is a Board Member of the Masters Hall of Fame, with a World Master Title from WLOP. Farid also is an acting Board Member of the Martial Arts Division of WLOP, and Advisor of the Power Lifting Division.
Farid has a passion for motivating and advising people to become their very best. In his travels, he has sought out the most challenging physical and spiritual experiences in order to become a more positive and constructive person.
President and CFO
Michael Wechsberg has had an over 35-year career as an executive in the aerospace industry. He has designed advanced radar systems, managed huge projects and departments, been awarded three patents, and helped several small companies to start up and grow. Over the last eleven years Michael has had real world experience working with addicts in recovery and has become familiar with many of the treatment programs available in the Orange County, CA area. He became interested in Harmony Heals, Inc. after learning of their impressive record of success helping those with chemical dependencies to become and remain sober. He and Farid Tabrizy worked together to create the program now offered by Harmony Heals Detox and Rehab.
Scott Lassiter, MPH, MS, MFTI
Scott earned his Master of Public Health degree and began his career as an epidemiologist, investigating disease outbreaks as a commissioned officer in the Public Health Service. Scott worked for the United States Centers for Disease Control, where he conducted health studies in communities and witnessed the psychological impacts of disease on individuals and their families. His desire to help people dealing with those issues led him to a career in psychotherapy.
Scott earned a Master of Science in Counseling degree at California State University, Long Beach, with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy. He integrates therapeutic approaches so that therapy is relevant to his client at the particular point in their life when they are seeking help. Scott’s joy in life is helping clients discover the strength and hope that resides within their hearts so that they may gain mastery of their lives and achieve the goals in life that they desire.
Randy Moraitis, MA, CIP, BCPC
President, CarePossible, Inc.
Randy is a masters level Certified Intervention Professional who is passionate about saving lives and saving families from addiction and mental health issues.
Randy is a multi-certified recovery coach, a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor, and a licensed and ordained pastor with decades of experience helping thousands of individuals have healthy growth and healing.
Randy is the president and founder of the nonprofit foundation CarePossible which provides mental health and addiction care to low income and military families. Randy is also the leader of Lifelines, a nationally renowned recovery program with over 400 attendees that meets every Friday in Costa Mesa.
Kimberly Brassett, MS, LMFT Intern
Kimberly holds a Master of Science in Marriage Family Therapy from California State University Fullerton, and is the author of Creative Kid, an interactive book for children and their parents. Her book is designed to help parents foster a healthy self-confidence, encourage creative thinking, and build a strong internalized self-esteem in their children. Kimberly has a variety of experience working with individuals and groups, couples’ therapy, parenting skills, trauma, addiction, codependency and mindfulness. Kimberly is also a trained Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist. EMDR therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma.
Lead Case Manager
Shaida completed her nutrition and wellness program at Brandman University and continued her education at Dr. McDougall’s Health & Medical Center. She’s currently pursuing her BA in Social Work at Brandman University, with an expected graduation date of Fall 2017.
She says: “Negative opinions can do two things in your life: fuel your progress or stop you from walking forward. In my case, it fuels my progress and my passion for the lifestyle I have chosen. My lifestyle does not believe in “cheat days” or go on vacation. Wherever I am, whatever I do, I will always choose to be HEALTHY.”
Shaida began working with Harmony Heals as a member of the support staff and, went through company training to become a case manager over the past two years.
Mary Wilson, LVN
Mary Wilson comes to Harmony Heals Detox and Rehab with over ten years of experience working in the field of Chemical Dependency in a hospital environment. Mary’s passion and commitment to helping individuals on their path to recovery was the center and driving force in encouraging her to join the Harmony Heals Detox and Rehab team. Mary has a rare capacity of unwavering compassion and sensitivity to the particular needs of every individual, along with a vast knowledge of the detoxification process. The personal setting at Harmony Heals Detox and Rehab provides Mary an opportunity to assist her clients and act as a liaison to their attending physicians, ensuring safety and comfort. Outside of work, Mary considers her three sons, and two grand children her greatest joys.
Michelle Iturriria is a Registered Addiction Specialist who began working in treatment in 2007. She has experience in several different areas of treatment, including detox, case management, and monitoring. Michelle brings a vast knowledge of all phases of treating addiction, and is especially passionate in serving the needs of clients in the detoxification phase of addiction treatment. Michelle understands the need for each individual client to be treated with respect, and feel as though they are being seen and heard. She honors those who make the courageous decision to enter into recovery.
Eric Granados is our Operations Manager and now has over 4 years of experience in multiple areas of the treatment industry, including operations, running an IOP, and human resources. Eric has struggled with binge eating since childhood. As a teenager he found solace within the confines of an eating disorder treatment facility. There he learned basic proper nutrition, exercise, and coping skills provided through psychological care. One of the many benefits of the eating disorder treatment facility was the daily routine of visiting 12 step fellowships. For the first time Eric was the given the opportunity to truly heal and finally engage in his life;
Tori DeGroote, CATC
Dir. of Clinical Outreach
Tori DeGroote currently holds the Director of Clinical Outreach position here at Harmony Heals. She has over 5 years of experience in the addiction field building alumni and continuing care programs, serving as a marketing and outreach manager, building community connections as well as serving as a case manager. She holds a Bachelors degree in Business as well as a CATC-III in addictions counseling. Having over 8 years of personal recovery, Tori understands what it takes to obtain long-term sobriety. Her passion remains in the addiction field assisting patients and family members with long term recovery as well as being an active advocate providing addiction prevention, education and awareness programs throughout the community.
Jennifer Medina, , AA, CA, RMT
Jennifer Medina is an Executive Assistant with a passion for languages and how they work. She has several years of experience working with words, whether it be writing research papers or articles and content for websites, editing the writing of others, or medical transcription. She happily considers herself a nerd who is knowledgeable about computers and especially enjoys creating spreadsheets and databases.
Jennifer currently holds an AA degree in Anthropology and is working toward her BA degree, double majoring in Linguistics and Anthropology.
